In conversation with SANDA ANDERLON.
A colourful throng of beachgoers, parrots, gliders, an overcrowded salon, guests swinging from the chandelier – Sanda Anderlon’s work is an invitation to a wild party, sensory overload in the best possible way: surreal but highly entertaining. Upon closer inspection, we discover the bizarre details hidden within, carefully placed curiosities that capture our attention. Showgirls from the 1920s party with hippies, a drinks delivery man in sweatpants interrupts a daydreaming Victorian woman, and a snowman stands next to a bikini model.
In conversation with HOLGER LIPPMANN.
Don't miss NEW works by bestselling LUMAS artist Holger Lippmann. His work, which he has dubbed "e-art," has been featured in exhibits all over the world, with images ranging from subjects like flowers to geometric figures to superimposed matrix structures. Although essentially abstract, Lippmann's work is always connected to the concrete.
In conversation with SEBASTIAN MAGNANI.
What does a superhero do after a long day of saving their city from criminal clowns and ruthless gangs of outlaws? They call it a day, enjoy a glass of cognac in a stylish hotel bar, smoke cigars, maybe even read the newspaper. Even heroes need some rest and relaxation. At least that’s the story Sebastian Magnani’s photographs depict - a superhero without superpowers who overcomes his opponents through sheer will and ingenuity. Magnani skillfully captures the aura of the mysterious vigilante and places it within the context of our everyday reality, thus colliding two worlds with surprising and inspirational results.
In conversation with CARLOS GAMEZ DE FRANCISCO
In Carlos Gámez de Francisco’s latest series, Modern Era, classical and contemporary painting beautifully intertwine. The Cuban-born painter and photographer blends his traditional style, largely based on portraiture, with modern art techniques. His subjects exude a simultaneously elegant and cool aura. Combined with animated surroundings, his works become deeply thought-provoking. They transcend time and everyday reality, just as the flamingos and lush foliage escape their natural habitat to become timeless symbols of beauty.
In conversation with CAROL MUTHIGA - OYEKUNLE
In Carol Muthiga-Oyekunle's artwork, women are portrayed as symbolic warriors, radiating strength and joy. Combining digital and mixed-media collage methods with photography and vivid graphical elements, the artist skillfully interweaves techniques to create bold and brilliant portraits of her female subjects. The resulting art depicts themes from the past, present and imagined futures, holding up a mirror to a patriarchal society.
