Q. We're thrilled to have you join our portfolio and making it on the cover of the new LUMAS Art Magazine! How would you briefly describe your art practice?
A. I create realistic paintings, oil on canvas, mostly of modern architecture in combination with landscape, but no people. Still, they show houses made by humans for humans.
Q. How do you want a viewer to feel when they see your works?
A. Hopefully my paintings catch the viewers’ attention, pulling them directly into in the scenery. I try to emphasize the contrast between the clear coolness of the architecture and the warm softness of the landscape behind. I like contrasts in colour, shape, light and shadow play with a combination of realistic and slightly abstract elements.

Q. Who are your artistic influences?
A. Architects such as Le Corbusier or Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, and also the Bauhaus-Movement which finally characterized the international style have a great impact on my work. And, in contrast to that, the romantic painter Caspar David Friedrich also influences my work.
Q. If you could visit any architectural marvel in the world, where would you go?
A. I would probably visit the German Pavilion in Barcelona, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, or Fallingwater designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in Pennsylvania.
Q. What’s your favourite time of day to create?
A. In the past, I used to feel creative at night, but now I rather prefer the magic of the morning time
